In celebrating Fire Prevention Month, we are partnering with the men and women of the U-Crest Volunteer Fire Department for our Second Annual Fire Safety Awareness Event. This FREE all ages event will allow participants the opportunity to explore the many different vehicles used in fire fighting, including equipment from the airport. They will be giving rides in their four wheeler as well as teaching kids many important aspects of fire safety. Multiple stations will include how to stop, drop, and roll, call 911, get out safely, and crawl through a smoke trailer. Representatives from the Amanada Hansen Foundation will be talking about the dangers of Carbon Monoxide and holding drawings for free CO detectors. Kids can also meet Sparky the dog and take pictures with him. Music and food will be available as well with all proceeds generated from the event going to benefit the U-Crest Volunteer Fire Departmet and everything they do to keep us safe. Everyone who attends will have a chance to enter our coloring contest with the winner getting a ride to their school on a firetruck! The coloring page will be sent to most local elementary and pre-schools, but we will have materials available for anyone who wants to create their unique work of art with us.
This event will be from 11am - 4pm and will be held at the Raymour and Flanigan located at 3770 Union Road, Cheektowaga, NY 14225, on the corner of Union Road and Galleria Drive just seconds past the Galleria Mall.
