Queen City Contra Dancers

We are a contra dance community that fosters folk dancing to live music in a family friendly, safe, substance free setting. Dancers range in age from 5 to 105! This is an opportunity for all to join in making music, making friends and leaning folk dancing! There is a caller who teaches every dance - easy to follow and low impact! Rochester Lilac Festival

Three long weekends in May beginning Mother's Day Weekend (May 6-8, May 12-15, May 19-22). Activities for all ages! The largest free festival of its kind, and collection of lilacs in North America. There are Kids Zones, Lilac 5K/10K, Wine and Craft Beer Tastings, Art Show, Parade, Health and Wellness Experience, and Seniors Day.

New York Museum of Transportation

The New York Museum of Transportation is unique among Western New York's museums. In Rush, just 20 minutes from Rochester, the museum features vintage trolley cars, highway and horse-drawn vehicles, a steam locomotive, several model railroads, photos, exhibits, gallery, and gift shop.
