We are a contra dance community that fosters folk dancing to live music in a family friendly, safe, substance free setting. Dancers range in age from 5 to 105! This is an opportunity for all to join in making music, making friends and leaning folk dancing! There is a caller who teaches every dance - easy to follow and low impact! The New York Museum of Transportation is unique among Western New York's museums. In Rush, just 20 minutes from Rochester, the museum features vintage trolley cars, highway and horse-drawn vehicles, a steam locomotive, several model railroads, photos, exhibits, gallery, and gift shop. Relive holiday memories with the Midtown Plaza Monorail on display! Rides are included with admission on the only electric trolley line in New York State. Our newly renovated nature center is now open and the Beaver Meadow Nature Preserve offers hiking and nature walks, birding, snowshoeing, and so much more. Experience wetlands, wooded areas, and our beaver and kettle ponds. We also offer a Toddler Time program, Storybook Trail, Fairy House Lane, Nature Play area, and summer nature camps. Trails are open daily from sunrise to sunset; the nature center is open Tuesday-Saturday.
