Visitors will explore Beaver Meadow through playing in nature! Everyone will enjoy paddling the pond, playing in mud, and catching critters in the pond or insects in the meadow. Craft a crown made with natural materials, make and fly a kite and build a fairy house, toad abode or shelter in the woods. Play with nature’s tree blocks or climb a tree! Learn new archery skills with the Wyoming County Federation or visit with Wyoming County’s famous ox, Big Red! Live birds of prey demonstrations with American Hawkeye and pony rides will round out the day.
A giant mud play zone will be unveiled for the event as well! Visitors are encouraged to bring a towel and change of clothes if they plan to get dirty. Hoses will be available to clean up.
“We are excited to bring this new annual summer event to Beaver Meadow. We are encouraging children and families to create their own adventure and enjoy a hands-on day in the woods!” said Loren Smith, Buffalo Audubon Society Executive Director.
