A professional bassoonist must be exceptional at not one, but two crafts. In
addition to performing at the highest level, a double reed player must also be able to create reeds that produce their instrument’s sound. BPO second bassoonist Max Pipinich will walk the audience through this hidden task, demonstrating how he turns a simple tube of cane into a complex music-making tool.
