View a display of headwear from around the globe, and see and touch materials used to make the hats like feathers, shells, buttons, and other materials. Join Adriana Hoppe, Spanish translator and interpreter, for an introduction to basic Spanish and learn about the history of traditional Mexican dresses. Enjoy a performance by Dangerous Signs, a poetry group from the National Technical Institute for the Deaf at Rochester Institute of Technology. The group’s mission is to represent global community building using a blend of American Sign Language, spoken words, music and dance. Delight in an encore performance of the popular Rainbow Fish: A Shiny New Musical!, written and composed by Rochester local Alec Michael Powell. This musical adaptation of the popular children’s book, tells the story of a lonely fish who only wants to be noticed and how his life is changed forever when he meets Rainbow, a beautiful fish with scales of every color. Included with general museum admission fees.
