Come on, dads and granddads, bring a youth age 3 -12 and spring for his or her $6 admission and we'll let you in free! It's our celebration of Fathers Day, Sunday June 15.
The New York Museum of Transportation appeals to all ages with its exhibits of full size trolley cars, steam locomotive, fire truck, model railroad, and the Midtown Plaza Monorail. Included in the family friendly admission is a 20-minute ride on the only electric trolley line in New York State. The vintage trolley car is reminiscent of the "interurban era" of 100 years ago when high speed trolley cars ran from Rochester to Buffalo, Syracuse and Geneva. The 2-mile round trip ride traverses scenic, open countryside and is the highlight of a visit to the museum. The museum is open Sundays only, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and except for special events no reservations are required. Admission is $12 adults, $10 seniors 65+, and $6 youths age 3 - 12. Age 2 and under are free. Located just 20 minutes from Rochester at 6393 East River Road, just a short distance from exit 11 of I-390.
