The Genesee Valley Council on the Arts (GVCA) dares you to enter the darkened halls of history for a haunted house like no other ever before! On four nights in October, thrill-seekers will step into the shadowy corridors of the Murray Hill Campus, the former Mount Morris Tuberculosis Sanitorium (1936-1971), for a one-of-a-kind immersive fright fest: Haunted House – Survive the Sanitorium. Adventurous spirits can start lining up at 7pm on Friday/Saturday nights of October 17th,18th, 24th, and 25th for excursions which run every 10-15 minutes.
Attendees will exchange online tickets ($15 pre-sale) for an entry pass into the haunted house. If you dare, tickets can also be purchased, day of, at the door for $20.
Imagine the scene as the three-story sanitorium transforms into a nightmarish medical laboratory where Dr. Morte Decesso, an erratic scientist, is racing to curtail a mysterious new illness spreading through Livingston County. Visitors will become part of the chilling storyline as they traverse the sanitorium’s stairwells and hidden chambers, encountering experimental “treatments,” deranged attendants, and the lingering spirits of those who never made it out.
