Looking for a new way to have fun outdoors? Orienteering is a sport in which a map is used to navigate a course; it can be done solo but is also a great family activity! The Buffalo Orienteering Club is hosting the national Masters Championship at Sprague Brook Park on Saturday, September 23 from 10 AM to 4 PM. Don’t let the “Masters Championship” name fool you; this is an event for all ages and abilities and beginners are welcome. Cost for the recreational (non-competitive) courses is $10 per person and pre-registration is required by September 17. Follow the link on the event page to the national meet website for more information on the full Championship schedule for the weekend, including dinner and a tour of East Hill Creamery in Perry and a second orienteering event at Letchworth State Park on Sunday.
