Old Fort Niagara has stood at the mouth of the Niagara River for nearly 300 years, witnessing many conflicts, including the 1759 Siege during the French and Indian War. Each July 4th weekend, the fort commemorates this battle with a three-day reenactment featuring hundreds of participants, thrilling battle scenarios, artillery firings, Native councils, and period merchants. Now in its 45th year, this event brings history to life on an epic scale.

Old Fort Niagara has been guarding the mouth of the Niagara River for almost 300 years. During this time, it has seen many changes and endured many conflicts, chief among them the Siege of 1759 during the French and Indian War.

Every year, on the weekend closest to July 4, Old Fort Niagara commemorates this historic siege with a large-scale three-day reenactment involving hundreds of participants from throughout North America. Now in its 45th year, the event features four action-packed battle reenactments, artillery firings, Native American councils, and acres of period artisans and merchants.
