Summer Sampler: History Play

Campers help choose the day’s journey in this free-play program. Play old-fashioned games, build a fort, or make up a new adventure. Work together with your fellow campers to plan each awesome day. Who knows what the journey will be? This is a great choice for children who prefer less structure.

With the GCV&M Historic Village as the setting for adventure, campers dressed in period clothing are immersed in lives and times of young people of the 19th century. Campers discover the Pioneer Farm and sample Village life or dive deeper into 19th century trades, skills, and key historical events.

- Camp nurse provided (verification of immunizations & Health History Report required)
- On the first day of class, youngsters receive a loan of period clothing, which becomes "their" outfit for the week! (a $40 cash deposit is required and will be refunded when the costume is returned.)
